Weekend Trip
How to spend a perfect weekend in Brookings, Oregon — a locals' plan for beaches, harbor dinners, redwoods and sunsets.
- Sunday — Redwoods or Slow Morning →
Head south to Stout Grove in the redwoods, or keep it local with a walk through Azalea Park and a dog-friendly brunch. Before you leave, grab something to take the coast home with you.
- Saturday — Boardman Corridor & a Real Dinner →
Big breakfast at Mattie's, then the Samuel H. Boardman corridor: Arch Rock, Natural Bridges, and a walk down to Whaleshead Beach. Adventurous? Swap the afternoon for Rogue River jet boats in Gold Beach, May to mid-October. End the day with dinner at Black Trumpet Bistro. Reserve ahead.
- Friday — Harbor & Sunset →
Roll in, check in, and head straight to the Port of Brookings Harbor for chowder at Catalyst Seafood. Then drive five minutes to Harris Beach for sunset over the sea stacks. It's the best welcome the Oregon coast offers.
